Salar Jung Museum- Hyderabad

  The Salarjung Museum has a unique distinction as the third largest museum in India and has a worldwide fame for its biggest one-man collections of antiques. Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan Salar Jung III, the former Prime Minister of the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad, spent most of his income over a period of thirty-five years to gather such priceless collections, which according to historians was his intense passion. The collections that was left behind in his ancestral Diwan Deodi palace were exhibited earlier as a private museum that was inaugurated by the then PM of India Jawaharlal Nehru in 1951. The Museum is a royal treat for art collectors with its 43,000 art objects and 50,000 priceless books and manuscripts. Golconda Fort- Hyderabad

गोलकोण्डा' दो शब्दों के मेल से बना है, 'गोल्ला' जिसका अर्थ गड़रिया व 'कोण्डा' यानी पहाड़ी।  तेलुगू में गोलकोंडा का मतलब होता है  ‘चरवाहे की पहाड़ी’ इसे 12वीं सदी में बनवाया गया था. यह मूल रूप से एक मिट्टी का किला था लेकिन बाद में 14 वीं और 17 वीं शताब्दी के बीच बहमनी सुल्तानों द्वारा मजबूत किया गया. वक्त बदला तो कुतुब शाही राजवंश ने इसे अपने राज्य की राजधानी बना लिया. देश के सबसे बड़े और सुरक्षित किलों में से एक गोलकुंडा बहमनी के शासकों के भी अधीन रहा। गोलकोंडा में अरब व अफ्रीका के देशों के साथ हीरे व मोतियों का व्यापार होता था। दुनियाभर में मशहूर कोहिनूर हीरा भी यहीं मिला था। #GolcondaFort

Chowmahalla Palace- Hyderabad

Built between 1857 and 1869 in Hyderabad, the Chowmahalla Palace is almost 200 years old and was once the official seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty. Now, it is one of the major tourist destinations in Hyderabad, and is known for its magnificent architecture and awe-inspiring beauty. For history and art lovers, the palace is an unmissable destination, what with its historical significance and rich heritage. The name of the palace literally means “Four Palaces”. Chow means four and Mahalat is the plural of Mahalel, which means palaces in Urdu. The magnificent palace acted as the official residence of many Nizams of Hyderabad during the time they ruled the city, and people often say that it resembles the Shah Palace in Tehran, in Iran.  #ChowmahallaPalace
